Q:How did you get into voice acting?

A: I first got into acting when I got jealous of watching groups of friends make stupid videos on YouTube. My sisters and I would make sketch comedy videos and put them up. We were also gamers and I eventually started recognizing voices I was hearing in them. I started researching and imitating them, auditioning for small independent projects online, and after 10 years, I’ve somehow managed to book a few actual games, and even a cartoon short that was on TV.

Q: How did you find out about Skyrim Romance and Bishop?

A: Mara approached me about replacing the male lead for the mod after hearing some auditions I had uploaded to SoundCloud. She was very polite and flattering, and I had been making an effort to book several large-scale Skyrim mods, so of course I accepted and we immediately got to work. Funnily enough, those same auditions also got me scouted for one of the first big FALLOUT4 mods currently in production. Unfortunately the auditions themselves were not good enough to keep me in the TES Renewal Project, for which they were originally recorded.

Q: What do you think of Skyrim Romance?

A: I didn’t really get to play the original version of the mod, but throughout my fairly disjointed and mostly context-less recording sessions, I was pretty sure the mod was a literally a playable romance novel, which was cool with me, because so far my audience was mostly guys, and guys I already knew, at that. The new version is a lot of fun; lots of content and dialogue to experience. I’m glad to have been a part of something that has entertained so many fellow gamers as this has.

A message from River…

Thanks again for all your love and support. The team and I greatly appreciated your patience and hope the final product is as satisfying to play as it was to create. I’ll answer more of these questions in my video FAQ in January, so keep sending in those questions!
